A vehicle management app developed by Mount Maunganui-based tech entrepreneur Steph Kennard is drawing the attention of major fleet operators.
In just ten months since its launch, more than 55,000 vehicles have been uploaded through the the app making it New Zealand’s third largest vehicle software platform, according to Bonnet’s own research.
Bonnet helps businesses manage vehicle admin including reminders for registration, servicing, Road User Charges (RUCs), Warrant of Fitness (WoF) and COFs in one location.
The app aims to streamline the management of large fleets from a manual task with spreadsheets into an automated, central platform. It can integrate the vehicle admin of one to 1000 or more vehicles.
“We are thrilled to have made such a difference to vehicle administrators in such a short time. We are only a few thousand cars behind NavMan, so we hope to be Kiwi’s vehicle platform of choice in the coming year, particularly with our new updates” Kennard says.
Bonnet is also New Zealand’s only free RUC management tool. It automatically calculates RUCs, taking the guesswork out of mileage. Which from April 1 this year, will be a new challenge for an extra 30% of the light vehicle market.
Kennard say Bonnet is ready to help track RUCs for the 70,000 EVs on the roads.
“If you haven’t had to deal with RUCs before, Bonnet will do the work for you, accurately and automatically,” she says.
Bonnet has also launched a desktop version and subscription model making it easier for businesses to manage several vehicles from the office. Users can effortlessly log in with their existing Bonnet app log in to view their vehicles on desktop including viewing and booking servicing.
The update allows for dual monitoring, enabling drivers and admin staff to view odometer readings, RUCs and service notes providing office staff with a bird’s eye view of the entire fleet.
Kennard says it’s a powerful tool for businesses that manage several vehicles on the road at any given time.
“The Bonnet web portal has come out of a very successful three month BETA testing period with 45 fleet companies including Dunedin Airport, St Johns, Mevo and Victor Contractors.
“The subscription model kicks in for three-plus cars and gives businesses a cost effective, seamless way to manage fleets while still allowing the public to use the tool for free,” she says.
Car Share company, Mevo has over 250 cars on the road and says Bonnet is a game changer for their fleet admin.
“Bonnet has been instrumental in efficiently managing our WOF and REGO information, significantly saving us time,” Mevo project manager Jonathan Barneveld says.
“Its user-friendly interface ensures that anyone in our team can easily grasp and navigate the system, making tasks straightforward and streamlined.”
